The Historic Union Pacific Rail Trail is a 28 mile, high elevation, flat trail that is mostly dirt and gravel. As it passes through wetlands and farms near Wanship and Silver Creek Canyon, a menagerie of wildlife -including fox, bald eagles, herons, moose, deer and beaver, often appears near the trail. At the north end of the rail trail near Coalville visitors will have a beautiful view of Echo Reservoir, a Summit County water source and hotspot for recreational boating.

Will start at he Wanship trail head (100-132 Old Lincoln Highway, Coalville, Utah) and head North for 5 miles and return.
